Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has granted an extraordinary posthumous promotion to Brigadier Arya Supena, a Lampung Regional Police officer who was fatally shot while attempting to stop a motorcycle theft of  a bake house in Bandar Lampung on Saturday.

“I have requested that he be granted an Extraordinary Rank Promotion (KPLB) for his service until his passing as a form of appreciation and the highest honor from the institution,” Chief Sigit said on Tuesday (12/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com..

The incident occurred when Arya, a member of the Intelligence and Security Directorate, confronted two suspicious men tampering with a resident's motorcycle. One suspect opened fire at close range, hitting the officer in the head.

Despite emergency medical efforts at Bhayangkara Hospital, he was pronounced dead. Lampung Regional Police are currently hunting the two suspects, following a formal police funeral held to honor the fallen officer’s bravery.
