Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Despite a planned protest by around 500,000 online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers, major ride-hailing platforms have confirmed normal operations today.

“For tomorrow, Grab’s operations will run as usual. There are no changes,” said Grab Indonesia's Chief of Public Affairs, Tirza R. Munusamy, on Monday (19/5/2025). However, she encouraged users to plan trips early to avoid delays in protest-affected areas.

Gojek President Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo emphasized the importance of internal communication to address driver concerns while maintaining ecosystem stability.

Maxim and InDrive echoed similar commitments, urging drivers to operate responsibly and highlighting minimal disruption from their driver networks.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi welcomed the protest as a democratic right but stressed the need for routine dialogue among drivers, platforms, and customers. He proposed regular forums to address unresolved issues and promote a balanced, sustainable digital transport ecosystem.

The protest is a response to alleged regulatory violations and demands for fairer treatment of driver-partners by ride-hailing companies.
