Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian surfer Rio Waida has entered the Top 5 of the World Surf League (WSL) rankings after his quarterfinal finish at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal 2025 in Supertubos, Peniche on Sunday.
With 13,875 points from three Championship Tour (CT) events, he moved up one spot from his previous ranking after finishing runner-up at the Abu Dhabi Pro last month.
“I feel lucky to be in this position—fifth in Portugal. Grateful for my team, always learning, always aiming higher,” Rio shared on social media on Monday (24/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He lost in the quarterfinals to 2019 world champion Italo Ferreira, who also defeated him in Abu Dhabi.
Rio’s next challenge is the Surf City El Salvador Pro on 2 to 12 April 2025.
