Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong (KJRI Hong Kong) confirmed on Saturday (29/11/2025) that seven female Indonesian migrant workers died in the massive apartment fire that struck the Wang Fuk Court residential complex on Wednesday.

“Based on coordination with the Hong Kong Police Force, the total number of deceased Indonesian nationals has reached seven,” the consulate said in a written statement, as reported by antaranews.com.

It said that around 140 Indonesian migrant workers lived in the affected area. Of these, 61 have been located and confirmed safe or accounted for, while 79 remain under verification.

Local authorities are identifying the bodies, while the Indonesian consulate is coordinating with Hong Kong officials on the handling of remains. The consulate has also distributed logistical aid, opened a help desk at Tai Po Community Center, and established additional emergency service posts, including passport support.

Hong Kong authorities continue investigating the blaze, which has killed 128 people and injured 79, with 11 suspects detained on manslaughter charges.
