Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) have distributed 76,500 tons of humanitarian aid from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base to disaster-affected regions in Sumatra, Air Operations Command I Commander Air Vice Marshal Muzafar said on Saturday.
“We have sent 76,500 tons to North Sumatra and Padang, West Sumatra,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com
The relief packages include emergency BTS units, essential goods, blankets, tents, rubber boats, and medical supplies. The assistance is transported using five TNI aircraft and distributed to isolated zones with 11 helicopters.
The effort followed President Prabowo Subianto’s directive for rapid nationwide response after severe floods and landslides struck Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Halim Air Base now serves as the central logistics hub for incoming and outgoing aid.
