Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Twelve flights were diverted from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Monday (6/4/2026) after high-intensity rainfall and dangerous windshear conditions compromised landing safety during a severe weather front.

"Flight safety and security remain our absolute priority in every operational decision made during these adverse conditions," said Soekarno-Hatta Airport Assistant Deputy of Communication and Legal Yudistiawan, as reported by antaranews.com.

The Airport Operation Control Center reported that in addition to the diversions, fourteen flights entered holding patterns while thirteen others performed go-around procedures. The storm also caused minor structural damage to the roof of Terminal 3’s Gate 7 boarding lounge; however, officials confirmed that all runways and taxiways remained operational without flooding.

Airport authorities are currently working with AirNav Indonesia and various airlines to manage the backlog of rescheduled flights. Passengers are advised to check official airline channels for real-time updates as technical teams continue 24-hour monitoring of terminal infrastructure to ensure traveler safety.
