Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Six flights between Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport and Labuan Bajo’s Komodo International Airport in East Nusa Tenggara were canceled on Monday (4/11/2024) due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in Flores.
“By Monday afternoon, three departures and three arrivals to and from Labuan Bajo were unable to operate,” said Acting General Manager of Ngurah Rai Airport, Ibnu Solikin, as reported by antaranews.com.
The six affected flights were operated by Batik Air and AirAsia, with the scheduled flights to Labuan Bajo falling between 11. 45 am and 6.55 pm local time.
The duration of these cancellations remains uncertain as officials monitor the impact of Mount Lewotobi’s early morning eruption. Solikin assured passengers that updates would be provided as the situation unfolds.
In response, Ngurah Rai Airport has coordinated with airlines to offer affected passengers options for refunds, rescheduling, or route changes.
“We are continuously monitoring the situation with relevant authorities and hope for a quick return to normal operations,” Solikin added.
