inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Social Ministry will check all orphanage accreditation across Indonesia. This step is taken following the sexual abuse case committed by the owner of Kunciran Indah Orphanage in Tangerang.

“I asked the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation to check. This is very important,” urged the Minister of Social, Saifullah Yusuf on Tuesday (10/8/2024).

Saifullah also emphasized that he had asked for the complete document of orphanages across Indonesia. This data includes orphanages that have been accredited and those who are under the process of accreditation.

Furthermore, he highlights good management and validated officials are important for orphanages. This is to ensure all social welfare institutions can be monitored accordingly.

At the end of his statement, he reveals that the Social Ministry data reveals that there are more than 3,000 orphanages that have been accredited. He hopes the management of orphanages can continue to be improved for the welfare of the children.
