inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, reminded that the distribution of subsidized fuel must be on target to avoid misuse that is detrimental for the country.

In his statement, he asked for malpractices, such as sales of subsidized fuel to industry at a profitable price difference to no longer exist.

He stressed that the misuse of subsidies must be stopped because the state already gave huge subsidies, reaching hundreds of trillions of rupiah, for the fuel. 

Bahlil added that this condition is a serious concern considering that world oil prices are currently in an uncertain condition due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

“I ask you to be careful because the state has given huge subsidies for the fuel. On the other hand, the world oil prices are in concerning conditions with the war that is going on in the Middle East,” said Bahlil.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources invited all parties to be consistent in implementing regulations without deviation, in order to maintain economic and environmental sustainability.

He further reminded that non-compliance with regulations could cause great losses to the country, so collaboration between all stakeholders is needed.
