inp.polri.go.id - Depok. The Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi reminds the young generations of Indonesia to be wise in using the internet considering they often fell victim to criminal actions in digital space.

“If you are not careful while surfing the internet, it would endanger you to the cyber attacks,” noted Minister Budi on Monday (10/7/2024).

In his statement, the internet nowadays are widely used for various needs, such as recreation to many digital services.

Although there are many benefits brought by the internet, the technology also brings many threats such as scam, data misuse, bullying, and sexual exploitation.

He urged the users to be wise in surfing the internet for them to be safe and remain productive. He also reminds the younger generation to use the internet for positive activities.

The Minister of Communication and Information explained that the government is running various programs to improve people's digital literacy in an effort to cultivate smart behavior in using the internet.

“The National Digital Literacy Movement (GNLD) is part of the digital human resource development program to mitigate the risks of internet use. The government also continues to implement the Digital Talent Scholarship and Digital Leadership Academy programs to produce quality digital talents," he said.

This digital talent preparation effort includes training of trainers (Training of Trainers/ToT) implemented by the Directorate General of Informatics Applications, in collaboration with the Center for Community and Cultural Research, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Indonesia.
