Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is preparing for a surge of up to 2.9 million passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Measures are in place to ensure smooth operations and passenger comfort.
Putu Eka Cahyadhi, the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Authority, announced on Friday (20/12/2024) the establishment of a dedicated Air Transport Command Post to monitor and coordinate airport activities during the peak travel season.
Operating from 18 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, the post will address issues to maintain smooth operations, according to antaranews.com.
Key initiatives include deploying 266 security personnel from the military, the police i, Aviation security, and related agencies, optimizing passenger services like check-in counters and baggage handling systems, and strengthening coordination with airlines and ground handlers.
The airport is also prepared for potential disruptions like natural disasters or security threats.
“Collaboration among all stakeholders is essential to deliver the best service during this busy period,” said Putu, emphasizing the importance of teamwork for a successful holiday season.
