South Jakarta Departmental Police Raided Drugs Factory in Bogor, Seized 150 Kg of Synthetic Tobacco

inp.polri.go.id. – Jakarta. Narcotics Investigation Unit of South Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police re-uncovered producer of synthetic tobacco drugs and capture several perpetrators in Bogor city. Pieces of evidence collected from the raid were 150 kg of the substance.

"We require further inspection and this evidence is bigger than before", Chief of South Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Azis Andriansyah, said.

Suspects with initials MR, AR, J, and AH are known as the sellers in Bogor. They took a role as couriers to deliver synthetic tobacco from the factory to the packing place or deliver it in smaller pieces to the dealers.

After developing the arrest, the Narcotics Investigation unit of South Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police, lead by Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Wadi Sa'bani, also captured the other five suspects. They are initialled as R, RP, RA, TA, and M, captured in two different houses in Bogor suspected as production houses, warehouse, and packing place of the finished synthetic tobacco before distributed.

The discovery of the case results from the development of raids and captures of a suspect initialled AM as the producer of synthetic tobacco in Banten. The evidence, which contained six kilograms of Pandeglang-produced synthetic tobacco, was marketed through social media.

The capture of AM itself results from KRP's capture in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (19/5), which alleged for using 3.26 grams of said drugs. Two days after KRP's capture, police later caught IA in the Tangerang regency, which sold the drugs through social media.

IA's arrest was conducted after tracking social media accounts through cyber patrol of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of South Jakarta Metropolitan Departmental Police. Provided by IA's clues, police continue developing and arrested AM in Pandeglang, Banten, which also an administrator of a social media account in Instagram used for the transaction. From AM, police then captured AH, which allegedly distributing synthetic tobacco from AM to be marketed.
