South Kalimantan Police Seize Rp43.93 Billion in Assets from Fredy Pratama's Drug Network

The Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of the South Kalimantan Regional Police has confiscated assets valued at Rp43.93 billion from the international drug kingpin network associated with Fredy Pratama, also known as Miming,  currently a fugitive wanted by the  Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Board. Deputy Director of South Kalimantan Regional Police Drug Investigation, Police Superintendent Ernesto Saiser, said that the police confiscated total of 14 assets, comprising real estate and vehicles, due to money laundering resulting from drug-related crimes. These ill-gotten assets were traced back to Fredy's parents, who reside in Banjarmasin, particularly Lian Silas. Among the seized assets is a three-story building located on Jalan Djok Mentaya, Banjarmasin, which houses the Shanghai Palace restaurant, Mentaya Inn Hotel, and Cafe Beluga. Furthermore, Lian Silas has been named as a suspect, along with dozens of others involved in the money laundering network connected to Fredy's drug operations. Fredy Pratama himself is currently on the run and was last spotted in Thailand. During a press conference in Banjarmasin on Tuesday (12/9/2023), the Deputy Director, who was accompanied by South Kalimantan Regional Police's Head of Public Relations Superintendent Mochamad Rifa'i, emphasized that all of the assets were confiscated based on orders from the Banjarmasin District Court. Consequently, these assets belong to the state, serving as crucial evidence and are ineligible for transfer. The. South Kalimantan Regional Police  has apprehended 92 suspects and seized substantial evidence, including 1.03 tons of crystal methamphetamine and 284,228 ecstasy tablets.
