Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar.  South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Andi Rian R Djajadi called for unity in combating drug trafficking following the seizure of 30 kilograms of methamphetamine.

"We need public cooperation to combat drug circulation," he said on Tuesday (30/4/2024).

Chief Andi Rian stressed the need for ongoing efforts, extending to human trafficking crimes, to capture other perpetrators. Concerned about South Sulawesi’s high ranking in drug trafficking nationally, he highlighted the importance of monitoring small ports used for smuggling.

Regarding a recent smuggling case, involving a suspect arrested at Awerange Mallusetasi Port, Barru regency, Sulsel, Chief Andi Rian assured ongoing investigations.

He warned of strict action against any police involvement in drug-related activities and urged the public to report with evidence.

Joint efforts by Barru Police and the Directorate of Narcotics Crime (Ditresnarkoba) of South Sulawesi Police had previously foiled the distribution of 30 kilograms of methamphetamine, valued at Rp 46 billion.
