inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. South Sumatra (Sumsel) Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Toni Harmanto inaugurated the Sjamsul Bahri Oemar Mosque at the Palembang Police and the Assa'adah prayer room at the Ilir Barat II Police, Thursday (12/23/21).
The inauguration also signifies that the mosque, which was built in 2019, has been officially used.
Also present at the inauguration, the Deputy Chief of the South Sumatra Regional Police Brigadier General was also present. Pol. Rudi Setiawan, Palembang Resort Departemental Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Irvan Prawira Satyaputra and was attended by the wife of the late Infantry Colonel (Ret.) Sjamsul Bahri Oemar, Hj. Delima and her biological son Dicky lenggardi tatung and his wife.
The South Sumatra Regional Police Chief explained that Sjamsul Bahri Oemar was a figure of a warrior hero in 1945 as a native son of South Sumatra. For his services, the late name is now immortalized for the mosque's name in the Palembang Resort Departemental Police's neighbourhood.
Dicky, the biological son of the late Sjamsul Bahri Oemar, expressed his gratitude for his parents' names to be beautifully engraved into the name of a mosque in the Palembang Resort Departemental Police's neighbourhood.
"We as a big family are very proud and grateful because, after all, our parents' names are remembered very well," said Dicky.
