Inp.polri.go.id - Kendari. In a bid to prevent firearm misuse among its ranks, the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police conducted firearm inspections and psychological evaluations at Gazebo Presisi on Monday (23/12/2024).

The initiative, led by the Internal Affairs Unit (Itwasda) alongside the Professional and Security Unit (Propam) and the Psychology Unit of the Human Resources Bureau, included verifying firearm inventories, ammunition counts, and the validity of firearm user permits.

The Southeast Sulawesi Police Head of Internal Affairs Unit, Senior Superintendent Hartoyo, , accompanied by the South Sulawesi Police Head of the Professional and Security UnitSenior Superintendent Moch. Sholeh, emphasized the critical responsibility that comes with possessing firearms.

"Owning a firearm is a significant responsibility. Misuse not only undermines the institution but also endangers public safety. Integrity and discipline are paramount," Chief Hartoyo said.

In addition to physical inspections, personnel underwent psychological tests to ensure mental stability and their capability to handle the responsibilities tied to firearm possession.
