Panca Putra Simanjuntak, accompanied by High Prosecutor of North Sumatra, Idianto, handed over a photocopy of a letter from the descendants of Ompu Buntulan Manurung containing the handover of more than 100 hectares of land to the Implementing Agency for the Lake Toba Authority (BPODT). The handover of the letter was to support tourism development, and was received by the Regent of Toba, Poltak Sitorus, accompanied by the Director of BPODT Jimmy Bernando Panjaitan on Thursday (9/15). Previously, the North Sumatra Police Chief was visited by Managam Manurung, who was the grandchildren of Ompu Buntulan Manurung, and had a meeting at his office. Although, the Police Chief had handed over the photocopy, he stated it would be proper if Managam would hand over the real document directly. "We will hold a cultural festival party where the party will officially hand over the land," said the Two-Star General. Inside the letter, the Ompu Buntulan made several requests such as employing the Ompu Buntulan descendants, re-measure the land area, and build roads around the site. Previously, It was also stated that the descendants of Ompu Buntulan had been decided by the Balige District Court as the legal owner of a 106.9 hectare land of Lajangan in Motung Village, Ajibata District, Toba Regency. Following the results of this decision, the Ompu Buntulan party then acted in good faith by making a letter of handover of land to tourism development through BPODT. Kajati Sumut conveyed that the Balige District Attorney, led by Samsul Kasim, should take part in overseeing the process of submitting this letter. Responding to this good will, the Regent of Toba expressed his gratitude to all parties and hoped that the next step in the process will be carried out as soon as possible.
