inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate stated that damaged and potholed roads remain a contributing factor to traffic accidents. Road damage also has the potential to cause traffic slowdowns, congestion, and even accidents.

"Regarding reviewing damaged roads that have the potential to cause disruptions, ranging from slowdowns, congestion, and accidents, is a routine activity for us. As a result, we coordinate with relevant agencies for immediate repairs," said Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent Komarudin, Thursday (1/29/2026).

In addition to road factors, he said, extreme weather is also said to contribute to the increased risk of accidents. Komarudin stated that the impact of the recent extreme weather has caused damage to several road sections.

He explained that data collection is currently underway on the affected road sections.

"The impact of the extreme weather, which also includes several damaged road sections, is still ongoing," explained Komarudin.
