Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Supreme Court of Indonesia (MA) has transferred 199 judges and court leaders across the country following a high-level meeting on judicial promotions and rotations held on Tuesday.
Chief Justice Sunarto said the move is part of a routine effort to revitalize the judiciary.
“This rotation serves as a form of refreshment, and we hope it brings greater motivation to court officials,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com on Wednesday (23/4/2025).
A considerable number of those affected come from Jakarta’s district courts: 11 from Central Jakarta, 11 from West Jakarta, 13 from South Jakarta (including one promotion), 14 from East Jakarta, and 12 from North Jakarta.
Changes in leadership positions were also made. Central Jakarta District Court will now be led by Husnul Khotimah (formerly Chair of Balikpapan District Court), South Jakarta by Agus Akhyudi (former Chair of Banjarmasin District Court), and North Jakarta by Yunto S. H. Tampubolon (previously with Serang District Court).
Chief Justice Sunarto reminded his judiciary to avoid transactional conduct and to work with sincerity and professionalism.
“Let us work with honesty and commitment—there is no place for transactional practices,” he emphasized.
The large-scale reshuffle came shortly after a corruption scandal involving senior Jakarta judges, including a district court chief and three judges who were named suspects by the Attorney General's Office over alleged bribery in a crude palm oil (CPO) export case.
