Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Acts of violence against judges are increasingly common in court buildings, highlighting serious security gaps, Supreme Court Secretary Sugiyanto told legislators on Thursday (13/3/2025).

“Recent contempt of court at the North Jakarta District Court highlights the urgent need for stronger judicial protection,” he said, citing inadequate security measures as a key issue.

Despite existing regulations, enforcement remains weak, leaving judges vulnerable to threats and intimidation.

“The risks faced by judges are rising, yet security measures remain insufficient,” Secretary Sugiyanto said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He stressed that judicial protection must extend beyond courtrooms to judges’ residences. Many judicial residences are located in high-risk areas with inadequate security, exposing judges and their families to potential harm, he added
