Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Taxes and the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Special Task Force for State Revenue Optimization are joining forces to crack down on Indonesia’s shadow economy, with a focus on illicit activities in key natural resource sectors.
“These include illegal fishing, illegal mining, and illegal logging,” said the Taxes Direcrorate General spokesperson Rosmauli on Wednesday (18/6/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The cooperation will involve data sharing, joint investigations, and stronger law enforcement measures.
The task force, recently reactivated under the leadership of Herry Muryanto and deputy Novel Baswedan, consists of former anti-corruption officers and aims to secure state revenue amid fiscal pressures.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani welcomed the collaboration, noting the task force’s potential to support the national budget. Coordination between the Taxes Directorate General and the Task Force has already begun, with discussions held at the Taxes Directorate General headquarters earlier this week.
According to the INP Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the task force will assist ministries in strengthening state revenue collection and preventing leakages.
