inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Nasir Djamil, a member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the PKS faction, spoke about the ongoing process of reforming the Indonesian National Police (INP). The transformation of INP was carried out to meet the public's expectations in protecting, serving, and enforcing the law.

He himself views that the transformation of INP has begun to be seen in the police two jargons of Promoter (professional, modern, and trustworthy) and Precision (predictive, responsible, and transparent with justice). Nasir Djamil views, in relation to the call for INP reform, he is more inclined to choose a restoration approach.

"The essence of restoration, in my opinion, is to cure the 'sickness' within the police to be 'fresh' again," he said in an official statement, Monday (9/22/2025).

He further added that the Police Transformation Reform team formed within the National Police by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo is expected to evaluate, assess, and restore the career system to its ideal position. In the context of meritocracy, it is necessary to take several steps to evaluate followed by efforts to improve, restore, and restore a good and proper career system.

"Restoration efforts must be accompanied by sincere intentions and a strong desire to improve and restore, so that the principles of professional policing can be presented," he said.

He stated that the GoodStats 2025 survey found that 80.5 percent of people want the police to be free from extortion and bribery. Furthermore, 70.1 percent of respondents want the police to be fairer, more professional, and more impartial.

The other 39.1 percent want the police to be more humane and closer to the community. These three factors reflect the public's strong hopes for the future of the police institution.

To achieve this, Nasir said, exemplary leadership and restoration are needed through reforms followed by cultural change. This will foster a more responsive legal culture, prepare for future challenges, and accommodate the interests of the community.
