Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, stated that the number of sufferers of acute respiratory infections (ISPA) has increased sharply. This is due to the poor air quality in the Greater Jakarta area. "Currently, air pollution is bad, especially in Greater Jakarta. And ISPA has indeed increased quite high," said Health Minister Budi Gunadi in Tangerang, Friday (25/8/23). According to Budi Gunadi, to minimize ISPA, monitoring and action must be carried out from upstream to downstream. If there are people with symptoms, they must be treated as soon as possible. "ISPA is indeed on the downstream side, if someone gets sick we will take care of it. I have prepared the hospital, the doctor and the medicines," said Budi Gunadi. Budi Gunadi explained that ISPA is pneumonia, a clinical lung infection, it can even cause tuberculosis, lung cancer. Of the five types of illness, there is a fee to cover BPJS of up to IDR 10 trillion. Nevertheless, Budi Gunadi hopes that on the upstream side it is hoped that the environmental, energy and transportation sectors can work together. The goal is to help reduce air pollution. "I hope that later on the upstream side. Namely, the environment, energy and transportation can really help so that pollution can be suppressed," he said. (ndt/pr/nm)
