inp.polri.go.id - Good news for the Indonesians, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has been ranked by The Muslim 500 as one of the 50 most influential Muslim figures in the world this year. The Muslim 500 is a survey that regularly releases who are the most influential Muslim figures in the world every year. The survey was set up by The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center affiliated with the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Amman, Jordan. "Joko Widodo, or Jokowi as he is known, was re-elected President of Indonesia in the April 2019 general election, winning 55.5% of the vote and will serve his second and final term until 2024," reads a survey by The Muslim 500. Apart from Jokowi, former chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Said Aqil Siradj and Habib Luthfi bin Yahya, chairman of the Central Java Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) were also included in the top 50 Muslim figures on the list. Both ranked in the 19th and 32nd respectively. Meanwhile, Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamid Al-Thani was the No.1 most influential Muslim figure in the world in the survey, followed by Saudi Arabia's King Salman and Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan is in fourth place. He has been Turkey's president for 11 years and won three consecutive elections in 2002, 2007 and 2011. Then, Abdullah II Ibn-Al-Hussein was ranked the fifth most influential Muslim in the world. He is a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. The sixth rank is occupied by Muhammad Taqi Usmani. He is a scholar of Islamic finance as well as a Muslim scholar. HM King Mohammed VI sits in seventh place. This king of Morocco is also said to be the direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. Mohammed's family is said to have ruled Morocco for nearly 400 years.
