inp.polri.go.id - Tolikara. A roadblock by several village heads and denizens in Kimibur Village, Karubaga District, Tolikara Regency, was resolved peacefully on Tuesday (8/5/2025).

The action, which temporarily hampered traffic flow, was a protest against the non-disbursement of Village Funds and honorariums for village officials for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

Joint personnel from the Tolikara Sub-regional Police, Assigned Mobile Brigade Corps, and local government officials moved quickly to the location to employ persuasive and mediation approaches.

Led by the Head of the Narcotics Unit, First Inspector Muh. Suryanto, the security team immediately coordinated with local government officials and community leaders to gather and listen to public complaints.

Also present during the mediation were Assistant III to the Tolikara Regional Secretary, Yohanis Mantong, and Head of Tolikara Transportation Agency, Jundi Wanimbo. They stated that the community's aspirations would be immediately reported directly to the Tolikara Regent, Willem Wandik.

However, the community issued an ultimatum: if there was no clear schedule for the disbursement of funds within the next week, the roadblock would be re-established at the same location.

After a humane and friendly dialogue, people finally agreed to remove the roadblock. The opening was carried out through mutual cooperation with Tolikara Sub-regional Police personnel, representatives of the local government, and the community.

Tolikara Sub-regional Police Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Roberth Hitipeuw, expressed his appreciation for this peaceful approach. He emphasized that the police would always be present as mediators in conveying the people's aspirations in an orderly and non-violent manner.

"This is a good example. Problems are resolved through communication. We continue to prioritize a humanistic approach and support every community right that is fought for peacefully," said Police Commissioner Roberth Hitipeuw.

This action demonstrates that dialogue and collaboration between the community, authorities, and the government can provide solutions to regional problems. The Tolikara Regional Government is committed to continuously paying attention to the welfare and basic rights of the community, especially village officials, who are the spearhead of village development.
