inp.polri.go.id - East Java. The Bojonegoro Regency Food Task Force (Satgas) conducted surprise inspections of several large rice mills in the Bojonegoro area on Tuesday (8/5/2025).
This activity was conducted as a precautionary measure against the potential circulation of adulterated rice, which is feared to be occurring in various regions, including East Java.
The inspections were conducted by a joint team consisting of the Bojonegoro Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the Agriculture Service, the Trade Service, and the Economic Division of the Bojonegoro Regency Government.
Two primary locations were targeted: UD Mitra Tani in Banjarsari Village, Trucuk District, and CV Sumber Ekonomi Putra in Pacul Village, Kota District, Bojonegoro.
At both locations, the Food Task Force team inspected the rice milling and packaging processes.
The inspections focused on the quality of raw materials, production methods, and packaging labels to ensure there was no mixing of low-quality rice into premium rice packaging.
Head of Unit II of the Bojonegoro Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Second Police Inspector Zainan Na'im, explained that this surprise inspection was a follow-up to growing national concern over the alleged circulation of adulterated rice, which is considered detrimental to the public.
"Rice is a basic necessity for the community. There must be no manipulation of quality that harms consumers," he said after the inspection.
According to him, preliminary inspection results indicate that the rice supply in the Bojonegoro area remains safe.
However, supervision will continue to be tightened to prevent potential quality manipulation and price manipulation that violates regulations.
Furthermore, the Bojonegoro Sub-regional Police and the Food Task Force urge all business actors in the food sector to carry out all production processes transparently and in accordance with national quality standards.
The public is also urged to be more careful and discerning when purchasing rice products.
