Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps ( has introduced the Electronic Vehicle Ownership Book (E-BPKB), a digital transformation of traditional vehicle documentation.
This new version features a more compact physical design embedded with sophisticated security hardware, specifically RFID chips and QR codes, to eliminate the risk of forgery and data misuse.
"Physically, the E-BPKB remains in book form but is smaller than previous generations. This document is equipped with high-level security technology in the form of an RFID chip and QR Code designed to minimize the risk of falsification, loss, or data misuse," said Brigadier General Wibowo, the Director of Registration and Identification at the Traffic Corps, on Monday (9/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The E-BPKB enabled vehicle owners to access their digital data and status history instantly via smartphones equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. It also facilitated the digital storage of vehicle and owner identities in the police database, ensuring national data accuracy and faster verification.
In addition The E-BPKB streamlines processes such as title transfers and data updates, making them faster and more transparent. The system also allows officers to track vehicle status and history electronically, supporting more effective legal enforcement and supervision.
