Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho on Wednesday (27/5/2026), urged regional traffic directorates to actively build communication and rapport with online motorcycle taxi drivers and other community groups.

“Embrace them, embrace all communities, foster ties, and we will form the Ojol Nusantara Association,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He emphasized that the drivers, who spend much of their time on the road, can serve as strategic partners by sharing information and helping maintain traffic order.

Chief Agus noted that drivers feel proud when included by traffic police, underscoring a shift from enforcement-focused approaches to more human-centered engagement. He explained that fostering relationships encourages voluntary compliance.

The initiative is part of the “Traffic Police Greeting and Serving” program, which promotes a culture of safety through dialogue and collaboration across Indonesia.
