inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation has sent a team to investigate the cause of the fatal accident at the Ciawi Toll Gate (GT), Katulampa Village, Bogor City, West Java, on Tuesday (2/4/2025) night.
"The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation is still investigating the cause of the accident at the Ciawi Toll Gate," said Acting Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Ahmad Yani on Wednesday (2/5/2025).
Acting Director General Yani said that a team from the Ministry of Transportation was sent to the scene to collect evidence and necessary information.
"The Ministry of Transportation continues to coordinate with the police and other relevant agencies to handle this accident," said Acting Director General Yani.
In addition, the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation also expressed condolences for the accident involving a gallon truck that hit five other minibuses at the Ciawi Toll Gate in Bogor Regency, West Java on Tuesday (2/4) at around 23.30 WIB.
It was stated that the chronology of the incident was that the truck with a gallon load was traveling from Ciawi towards Jakarta, then the truck was having a brake failure right at the toll gate so that it hit a group of vehicles that were making e-toll payment transactions.
It was reported that three vehicles were destroyed by fire and three other vehicles were severely damaged.
"From this accident, we obtained the data of the victims with eight people dead and dozens of others injured. The victims have been evacuated and taken to the Ciawi Regional General Hospital which is close to the location of the incident," explained Yani.
Yani appealed to all toll road users to always be careful and obey existing traffic signs.
"And to drivers, please ensure that the condition of your vehicle is good before using it," said Yani.
