Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation has announced plans to introduce a bus route connecting Cibinong to Puncak, West Java, by February 2025.
During his visit to Ciawi on Wednesday (25/12/2024), Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana said that the service aims to ease public access to the popular tourist area while reducing traffic congestion and road accidents.
The subsidized program will deploy 15-20 buses, allowing travelers to park their vehicles in designated areas like Karadenan and use the buses at affordable rates.
"This will minimize the need for private vehicles and make traveling to Puncak more convenient," he explained, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The initiative is part of broader short- and long-term strategies to address persistent traffic issues in Puncak. Measures include optimizing current systems like one-way traffic and developing infrastructure projects such as the Caringin-Cisarua-Cianjur Toll Road and Puncak II Route.
According to Suntana, around 37% of traffic heading through Puncak is bound for Cipanas and Cianjur, highlighting the need for alternative routes to distribute traffic flow effectively.
