inp.polri.go.id - Ende. The Ende Sub-regional Police provided trauma healing services to children affected by the earthquake that occurred on Flores Island. 

The activity took place at the Mandiri Evacuation Post in Lokoboko Village, Ndona District, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday (8/16/2026).

The activity, which began at around 4:30 p.m., was attended by 17 children affected by the earthquake. Trauma healing was provided by Ende Sub-regional Police counselors, Yumias Markus Lete and Novi Asmiati, who had received special training from the NTT Regional Police.

Ende Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Yudhi Franata, stated that the trauma healing activity demonstrates the police's concern for the community, especially children experiencing panic and fear due to disasters.

"Children are a group that requires special attention after experiencing a disaster. Through this trauma healing activity, we strive to help them manage their fear and anxiety, so they can gradually recover to feeling safe and able to return to their normal activities," said Yudhi.

During the event, the counselors engaged the children in various educational and fun activities. This approach was intended to help restore the children's emotional and mental balance after experiencing situations that caused panic and fear.

"What we do is not just provide entertainment, but also rebuild the children's sense of security and self-confidence. We want them to understand that they are not alone and that there are many who care and are ready to help," he added.

Yudhi emphasized that the police will continue to be present among the community in all situations, including during natural disasters.
