inp.polri.go.id - Central Java. The Central Java Regional Police are preparing to dispatch a Trauma Healing Team to provide psychological support to communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Preparations for the team's departure began with a briefing from the Head of the Central Java Regional Police Human Resources Bureau, Senior Superintendent Noviana Tursanurohmat. Subsequently, the Head of the Central Java Regional Police Human Resources Bureau's Psychology Division, Superintendent Ahli Rumekso, provided a briefing to personnel as part of their preparations for carrying out their duties at the disaster site.
The Central Java Regional Police Trauma Healing Team consists of three psychology personnel. They are prepared to provide psychological support to communities affected by the disaster, tailored to the conditions and needs on the ground.
Noviana stated that natural disasters not only cause physical damage but can also leave a mental scar on those affected. Therefore, supporting the community's mental health is a crucial part of the post-disaster recovery process.
"When a disaster strikes, it's not just houses that are affected, but also the community's psychological well-being. The presence of this psychology team is expected to provide support and assistance to the people facing difficult situations," said Noviana on Tuesday (8/18/2026).
According to her, the team will carry out its duties by prioritizing a humanistic approach and adapting to the conditions of the community at the disaster site.
Psychological assistance is expected to help the community, especially groups in need of more attention, to face the post-disaster situation with greater strength and composure.
