inp.polri.go.id -  Ukrainian police found more than 500 bodies of civilians in the recently liberated Kharkiv region from Russian troops. "We found the bodies of 534 civilians from the newly liberated territory from Russia, and this was only in the Kharkiv region," said Serhii Bolvinov, head of the regional police investigation department. Among those 534 bodies, 226 of them are women and 19 children. A total of 447 of the 534 bodies were found at the so-called "mass burial site" in Izium. Police also found 22 locations, which are suspected to be torture chambers. Investigators have collected documents and other evidence from the site and interviewed eyewitnesses, including former residents who were arrested. "Russian units set up such a place to hold civilians and prisoners of war in almost all the settlements on which they are based," he said. In addition, Bolvinov revealed the most common techniques used to torture citizens using electric shocks and multiple blows of sticks and other objects. "There have been cases of pulling nails and using gas poisoning to torture them," he said. According to The New York Times, most of the victims were citizens who had been arrested for violating the curfew, or accused of being a target marker in Ukrainian artillery attacks.
