Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Traffic Corps said vehicle confiscation will be the final legal measure in handling illegal street racing cases, emphasizing a preventive and humane approach.
“In certain situations, vehicle seizure can be carried out as a last resort when the vehicle is used for high-risk activities or fails to meet technical specifications,” said Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho on Monday (3/11/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He explained that through the “Patroli Presisi Berperisai Cahaya” operation, police have been instructed to intensify patrols during peak hours to deter illegal racing and ensure public safety.
Chief Agus added that 95 percent of traffic violations will be processed through the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) Mobile system, while manual tickets will be reserved for direct violations such as illegal racing.
“The success of our operation is not measured by the number of tickets, but by reduced violations and improved public awareness,” he said.
