inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) is committed to ensuring that every government policy takes into account the voices and input of children.
Acting Deputy for Fulfillment of Children's Rights at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Rini Handayani, stated that social change can begin with grassroots communities.
"Social change doesn't always stem from major government policies, but also from villages and sub-districts, schools, families, children's forums, children's councils, Community-Based Integrated Child Protection (PATBM), religious leaders, teachers, and parents. Our ministry always listens to children's voices in every policy, because children are able to explain their feelings, needs, and the solutions they seek," explained Rini on Thursday (7/2/2026).
She encouraged all parties to transform good practices into sustainable policies, so that innovations don't just remain projects or models, but become part of development governance at the national and regional levels.
"Furthermore, we also need to strengthen collaboration because child protection cannot be carried out by one ministry/institution alone, but must be the responsibility of all elements of society," said Rini.
She also stated that Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi advised that Indonesian children should not only be able to express the problems they face, but also be able to offer the best solutions to resolve them.
"The task of the government and all stakeholders is to provide a safe space so that children's voices are truly taken into account in every decision-making process. Every child successfully protected means a future for the nation is saved. By protecting every child, Indonesia is on the path to realizing Indonesia Emas 2045," continued Rini.
