Inp.polri.go.id – NTB. In celebrating the 57th Anniversary of Agriculture Faculty of Mataram University, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Raden Umar Faroq participates in planting the mangrove trees in Gapuk Beach, Central Lombok.
“This is an act of social service done by students of Mataram University who plants 2000 seeds of Mangrove trees in celebrating their 57th Anniversary of Agriculture Faculty,” said Raden on Saturday (1/20/2024).
Raden continues that planting Mangrove seeds is a positive activity as it would support the tourism of the beach by preventing abrasion.
“This simple activity is beneficial for the students in their Community Service Program. It is also demonstrates our solid relationship between the police institution and the university,” Raden adds.
Moreover, Raden believes that this positive activity would be a great example for the community and green activists to follow the effort in preserving the beach environment. In the future, the mangroves will act as the land fortress from the continuous assault of sea waves.
