Indonesian President Joko Widodo welcomes the relationship affirmation between Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the formation of Indonesia-Saudi Arabia Supreme Coordination Council. “With the divided situation in the world, a strong relationship between nations is necessary,” says President Jokowi in his press release on Friday (10/20/2023). President Jokowi and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman al-Saud signed several Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) after their bilateral meeting which one of them are the formation of Indonesia-Saudi Arabia Supreme Coordination Council. Other than the formation of the council, both countries also discuss about National Standardization Agency (BSN), cooperation in youth and sport development, and cooperation in halal product guarantees. During his tour to Riyadh, Jokowi was accompanied by Saudi Arabia Trade Minister, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi when he visited Al-Yamamah Castle. When arrived at the front of Al-Yamamah Castle, Jokowi was welcomed by the Crown Prince and walked together towards the stage of honor.
