Inp.polri.go.id – Jayapura. Yapen-Papua Islands Regency Youth Leader Yehud condemned the tragic murder of women's rights advocate, Michelle Kurisi Doga, in Central Papua by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
Extending his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family on Sunday (10/9/23), he emphasized the critical need to safeguard and support Papuan activists who champion human rights causes.
"I am saddened by the loss of Michelle Kurisi Doga. If the targeting of Papuan activists persists, the voice for humanity in Papua will be silenced," Yehud said.
Furthermore, he firmly supports the law enforcement efforts to arrest those involved in criminal activities against Mrs. Michelle Kurisi Doga, ensuring they are held accountable under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
In his concluding remarks, he urged the public to remain vigilant against the spread of false information and calls for unity in maintaining security and peace in the Land of Papua. This collective effort, he concluded, is crucial for ensuring a safe and harmonious environment for all residents.
