Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta administrationt has temporarily halted social assistance for 7,001 recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH) after financial data indicated their involvement in online gambling.

“This is a temporary suspension. The policy follows Social Affairs Ministry directives based on PPATK data, and we are rechecking the information,” said Yogyakarta Social Affairs Office Head Endang Patmintarsih on Sunday (16/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

Gunungkidul recorded the highest number of suspected cases (2,397), followed by Bantul (1,711), Sleman (1,106), Yogyakarta City (938), and Kulon Progo (849).

Verification will be conducted by PKH facilitators across the five regencies and city. Because the  The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) findings rely on national ID and bank account data, beneficiaries are being given the opportunity to clarify their status.

In many cases, Endang noted, gambling transactions were linked not to the registered beneficiary but to a spouse or family member using the same account. If proven that government aid was used for gambling, the beneficiary is deemed ineligible to continue receiving assistance.

“The government provides aid to meet basic needs and support empowerment, not to fund gambling,” she said.
