inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) visited flood-affected areas in Aceh to ensure accelerated recovery of the food sector, particularly aquaculture ponds and agricultural land damaged by the disaster.
The visit was conducted jointly with Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Minister of Trade Budi Santoso.
"Recovery of the food sector is a priority, including revitalizing rice fields affected by the disaster by improving irrigation and clearing silt deposits," said Zulhas on Friday (1/9/2026).
Based on field data, the total area of shrimp and milkfish ponds affected by the floods in the region reached more than 30,000 hectares, with varying degrees of damage.
The government is encouraging the physical recovery of ponds through repairing basic infrastructure so that fisheries cultivation activities can be resumed quickly by the community.
In addition to ponds, Zulhas also emphasized the importance of revitalizing flood-affected rice fields by improving irrigation networks and clearing silt deposits to restore agricultural productivity.
On that occasion, he stated that the government would strive to provide livelihood assistance to flood-affected residents to ensure their livelihoods during the recovery period.
Furthermore, the government will expedite the construction of temporary housing for residents displaced by the floods.
