inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. The NTT Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, led the Simultaneous Corn Harvest for the Fourth Quarter of 2025 to support the National Food Self-Sufficiency Program. This event was held in Manulai I Village, West Kupang District, Kupang Regency, on Thursday (1/8/2026).
This harvest was held simultaneously throughout Indonesia and led virtually by the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief and the Minister of Agriculture from Bekasi Regency, West Java.
The Head of Public Relations for the NTT Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Henry Novika Chandra, stated that this harvest was a concrete demonstration of cross-sector collaboration in supporting the Asta Cita of President Prabowo Subianto, particularly in the pillars of food security and people's economic independence.
"The Simultaneous Corn Harvest in the Fourth Quarter of 2025 is a crucial opportunity to affirm the commitment of the NTT Regional Police, the regional government, the Logistics Agency (Bulog), and farmer groups to realizing NTT as a national corn granary," said Henry.
Furthermore, Henry explained that from the outset, the NTT Regional Police Chief has emphasized the importance of seamless collaboration between the police and the community. The NTT Regional Police have actively overseen all stages of the program, from the simultaneous planting in October 2025 to the main harvest.
"The NTT Regional Police Chief emphasized that we are not only present to maintain security but also to ensure the welfare of the community, including in the food sector. Support for farmers is provided on an ongoing basis," he explained.
This main harvest covers various productive areas in NTT, such as Southwest Sumba, East Sumba, Alor, and Kupang Regency. One symbolic location is in Pasat Hamlet, Manulai I Village, covering an area of approximately 10 hectares, managed by the Manekat, Karunia, and Moris Diak farmer groups. This land is estimated to yield up to 50 tons of high-quality corn.
To support the success of this program, the NTT Regional Police deployed Bhabinkamtibmas (Community Police) as primary partners for farmers. They facilitate coordination with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) regarding weather, the Agriculture Service for technical counseling, and ensure the smooth distribution of seeds and fertilizer.
