Information from several regions with high rice prices stated that the main problem is transportation costs.

"Well then in the coordination meeting to sharpen rice price stabilization, several regions with high prices stated that the main cause was transportation costs," he said on Friday (12/6/2024).

On this occasion, he saw this as an opportunity for local governments to provide food transportation subsidies. This subsidy can be budgeted in the Regional Funds for regions with high distribution costs.

He appealed to local governments to be more proactive in monitoring prices and coordinating with Bulog. With sufficient rice stocks, Bulog is ready to conduct market operations and distribute SPHK rice to stabilize prices.

He said that local governments are also expected to be more active in monitoring rice prices in local markets and taking immediate steps. With good coordination with Bulog, it is hoped that rice prices can be stable and not burden the community.
