Inp.polri.go.id - Surakarta. A fire broke out at Grand Hap Hotel in Surakarta, Central Java, on Friday night (7/3/2025), prompting the evacuation of several guests who were later hospitalized.

The Surakarta City Sub-regional Police confirmed that all affected guests had been transported to nearby Slamet Riyadi Hospital and Kasih Ibu Hospital.

The fire originated in room 503 on the fifth floor, with initial sparks reported around 7 pm local time. Investigators are still determining the exact cause.

"The fire started beneath the bed, but we are investigating the cause," said Surakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Catur Cahyono Wibowo, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Emergency responders dispatched eight fire trucks to the scene. No fatalities were reported in the incident.
