Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan discussed security stability cooperation between Indonesia and the United States (US) with the US Ambassador to Indonesia, Kamala Shirin Lakhdir, at the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs office, Jakarta.
"We discussed various potential cooperation in implementing a comprehensive strategic partnership between Indonesia and the United States," said Budi Gunawan on Tuesday (17/12/2024).
The Coordinating Minister emphasized that Indonesia and the US have a long and positive history of bilateral relations. Various collaborations have been established previously, such as joint military exercises to collaborate in the economic sector, which have brought benefits to both countries.
"The collaboration resulted in the strengthening of military defense and strategic economic policies. I hope this meeting can further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries," explained the Coordinating Minister Budi Gunawan.
For information, the bilateral relations between Indonesia and the US have been going on for 75 years since the time of Indonesia's struggle for independence. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto previously also held a bilateral meeting with the US President at the White House, Washington DC, on November 12th.
On that occasion, the US government expressed its support for the Indonesian government and the national priority program, Astacita.
