inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police revealed that the discovery of a counterfeit money factory in Bogor City, West Java, began with the finding of a bag left behind on the Tanah Abang Station electric train (KRL).

“There was a suspicious bag left behind in a car train with the destination of RangkasBitung,”  says the Chief Sector Police of Tanah Abang, Police Assistant Superintendent Haris Akhmad Basuki on Thursday (4/10/2025).

In his statement, he says that the train officers were suspicious of the container of the bag and waited for the owner to get the bag back.

Eventually, the owner, with the initials of MS (45), returned to get his bag. There, it was found that the bag contained counterfeit money of IDR 100 thousand which reached IDR 316 million.

"There was an argument between the officer and MS because the person concerned did not want to open the contents of the bag. After being forced, MS then admitted that there was counterfeit money inside," he said.

Following the statement of MS, the authorities then arrested BI (50) and E (42) at a hotel in Mangga Besar with the evidence of a counterfeit money reaching IDR 451 million.

The following day, authorities arrested another suspect with the initials of BS (40) and BBU (42) whose task is to spread the money.

“We continue to expand the case and on Wednesday (4/9/2025), AY (70) was arrested in Subang Regency. AY acts as the mediator,” explains Haris.
