Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has directed Attorney General ST Burhanuddin and his deputies to prioritize action against illegal permits, which he described as a key factor causing state losses and obstructing national development.

Speaking in a closed-door meeting at the Merdeka Palace on Monday (13/1/2025), heo highlighted corruption in the permitting process. 

“Illegal permits are often exploited for personal or group interests, leading to significant losses for the nation,” he said in a statement released by the Presidential Secretariat's Bureau of Media and Information (BPMI) on Monday (13/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The President urged the Attorney General's Office to expedite investigations into ongoing cases and called for enhanced supervision across government institutions to ensure transparent and lawful permitting processes.

The two-hour meeting also involved officials such as Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) Chief Ivan Yustiavandana and Acting Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Muhammad Yusuf Ateh.

“We must eliminate the misuse of permits to safeguard public trust and national interests,” President Prabowo emphasized.
