inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir continues to improve the accessibility and the comfort of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport transportation. In his effort, Erick pushed Indonesian Train Company (PT KAI) and BUMN aviation and tourism to collaborate in improving airport transportation.
“There is an agreement between KAI and InJourney Airports to optimize the connectivity from Soekarno-Hatta Airport terminal through airport train. We hope that this service can serve up to 10 million people per-year, or about 20 percent,” says Erick on Thursday (1/2/2025).
Furthermore, Erick states that the airport train service has just served around 1.5 million people per year. According to him, by increasing the capacity of the train, it would also help ease the traffic congestion around the airport and toll road.
In his visit to the airport train station, Erick directly tried the airport train from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to BNI Dukuh Atas Train Station, which only takes 50 minutes. In his review, he asked for a shorter travel time to boost service efficiency.
“We are now talking about the possibility of cutting the travel time to 40-35 minutes. Connectivity between the airport and the city center must be truly integrated so that this service becomes the main choice for the community," he said.
Erick is optimistic that this plan can be realized within the next six months. He noted that this is part of the government's commitment in improving the quality of public transportation that supports efficiency and passenger comfort.
