inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Samarinda Sub-regional City Police thwarted the distribution of approximately 10 tons of Cap Tikus traditional liquor using a land-based truck early Monday (2/23/2026), and arrested 12 individuals suspected of involvement.

"Our personnel have confiscated a total of 247 sacks weighing 9,880 kilograms containing Cap Tikus liquor while on patrol," stated Police Senior Inspector Baharuddin, Head of the Samarinda Sub-regional City Police's Public Order Unit.

The case was uncovered by a joint team of officers from Patrol Unit 110 and the Mahakam 2026 Operation Pekat, who conducted a raid at 12:10 a.m. 

During the operation, police immediately stopped two trucks and a passenger car that appeared suspicious.

Officers immediately searched the trucks, as well as a car which tailed the trucks. Based on the inspection results, the first truck was found to be concealing 113 sacks weighing 4,520 kilograms, and the second truck was carrying 133 sacks weighing 5,320 kilograms.

"Meanwhile, the passenger car accompanying the illegal goods distribution convoy was found to be carrying an additional sack weighing 40 kilograms," said Baharuddin.

Dozens of people were subsequently arrested, including two persons in charge, identified as RS and FD, the drivers, and several porters.

"Currently, all the suspected perpetrators and the three liquor transport vehicles have been taken to our headquarters for further questioning," explained Baharuddin.
