inp.polri.go.id - Purworejo. A total of 11 people died in an accident between a truck and a minibus on the Purworejo-Magelang Highway, Kalijambe Village, Purworejo Regency, Central Java, Wednesday (5/7/2025).

Purworejo Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Andry Agustiano confirmed the tragic incident that occurred on the sloping road.

Andry explained that the incident began when the truck was driving from north to south. The truck tried to overtake the minibus that was driving on the sloping road.

"The truck is suspected of losing control and hitting the minibus," he said.

As a result, he continued, the minibus overturned and hit a house at the location of the incident.

Officers who received information about the incident immediately went to the location to carry out an evacuation and crime scene investigation.

In addition to the 11 victims who died, there were six other victims who were injured. 

On the other hand, the identification of the victims who died was still being carried out.

In addition, officers are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.

Andry appealed to drivers of large vehicles to be more careful and ensure the condition of their vehicles when crossing the Purworejo-Magelang route.
