The South Jakarta Sub-Regional Police will deploy 1,549 combined personnel for security measures leading up to the Christmas and New Year celebrations, confirmed Police Senior Superintendent H. Ade Ary Syam Indradi, Chief of South Jakarta Sub-Regional Police, on Wednesday (20/12/23).
"There will be a combined force of 1,549 personnel from the police and military, with the objective of delivering the best service to the South Jakarta community," he said.
He outlined key security areas, placing notable emphasis on places of worship, with a total of 133 churches.
He further encouraged church administrators to engage community leaders, youth figures, and religious leaders in harnessing the potential of the surrounding community to boost the effectiveness of these activities.
"We conduct security assessments and jointly evaluate the security system with the three pillars. We hope for cooperation from all layers of the community," he said.
